[ #WORKSHOP ] @nodesdesign We are SO EXCITED to once again sponsor this amazing upcoming workshop in Amsterdam. Use the code [ SA50 ] to receive a discounted price. Places are limited! The studio will be taught by Javier Ruiz, design tutor at the Bartlett School of Architecture, London. The workshop will explore several computational techniques and design methodologies in order to speculate with the design of a new opera house, Train station and a museum for the city of Amsterdam The participants will learn the fundamentals of polygonal modelling using MODO and procedural modelling using HOUDINI. The studio aims to strengthen the skills of each participant by merging two different techniques in design using Modo (Mesh Modeling) and Houdini FX (Node-based Modeling). It operates as a cross-feeding set of ecosystems where research and teaching merge into a rich substance used for speculating with architectural design. Javier Ruiz also teaches architectural design at the Bartlett School of Architecture UCL, London. Here he has run design studios at the level of Undergraduate, Master’s and Post-professional Master’s degree for the last 4 years.
I want that HAT 🤩 @guggenheim ・・・ “I was assigned by LOOK magazine in 1960 to photograph model and actress Isabella Albonico and the Hat. Once she placed the hat on her, I immediately said ‘we are going to the Guggenheim.’ Frank Lloyd Wright was a dear friend of mine and one memory I have of him that I will never forget was after a long walk at his house in @wrighttaliesin, Frank picked up a cane and gave it to me. I noted that I don’t have a need for it and he responded ‘son some day you will.’ Just last year I started to use the cane.”—@tonyvaccarophotographer #Guggenheim60 __ 2019 is the 60th anniversary of our #FrankLloydWright-designed building, and we’d love to hear about your memories of the Guggenheim over the last six decades! Send us your old photographs or videos taken at the museum and we’ll select our favorites to share with you here. 🔥✨🔥✨🔥✨🔥 @refikanadol ・・・ Dear friends, we are getting wonderful reactions for our recent #audio/ #visual #installation; Machine Memoirs exhibiting @artechouse Washington, DC! This project’s narrative strives to explore celestrial #structures through the mind of a machine. By learning from past #explorations the machine can begin to dream about what it has yet to discover, what may exist just beyond our reach. The generative machine learning #algorithms for this project were trained on a data set containing approximately 2.2 million images of the Earth, Moon, Mars and galaxies, taken from #NASA missions ISS, Chandra, Kepler, Voyager, and Hubble.
The science of shape @irisvanherpen zooming into the atelier process. The ‘Blaschka’ dress was made from a soft 3D hand-casted transparent PU that was hand-painted through injection molding. After taking the air bubbles out it was poured into vacuum formed moulds while it was still liquid, to then be lined with a fine silk tulle. The dress was inspired by the incredible delicate glass marine models of Leopold and Rudolf Blaschka. ～ Watch the full 'Between The Lines' process video by @mr.mcdaniels on our Youtube. #irisvanherpen #betweenthelines
