Recently Logic released his new album, YSIV. As well Lil Wayne released the Carter 5. Now obviously there was quite a bit of hype around C5 and it finally coming out after years of anticipation. But YSIV shouldn’t go unnoticed. I wanna discuss the pros and cons of each album and then give them both a rate. Starting with YSIV, the album does have quite a few bright spots. I’d say the features are probably what stand out the most overall across all boards. Wu-Tang, Jaden Smith are among the names listed. Another stand out would be the structure of the album. Now coming off of Everybody, logic hinted at his next album being his final one but with this album we learn that not to be true, but that this would be his last album in the YS series. Negatives with this album though are the same has how they have been over the last few Logic projects, just on a lighter note. Production, i feel like Logic is really just using niggas beats and adding new drums to them. I don’t like that, it’s unoriginal and honestly doesn’t reflect his talent. I still hear him tryna push that “I’m black” shit a lil here. I’m glad he cut it down by a lot but it’s still present, u don’t have to keep saying it. Now on to Lil Wayne’s C5. The features in here were well picked and they delivered as well. I also loved the production. The beats where hard, i like the way the album was mixed along with other audio qualities of this joint. Replay Value is strong too. I often found myself going back to a few tracks on this joint. The negatives tho are the fact that this album is way to long. I feel like he could have cut like 10 tracks and this joint would have been phenomenal. Also, i didn’t like how Wayne was rapping on a few joints. Sounded strained to me but then again that’s likely an affect of his natural voice. Both albums are dope but i do like C5 significantly better. It’s more my style and I’ve been waiting for this shit awhile.
YSIV- 6.5/10
C5- 7.9/10

This is my favorite TDE albums (Part2)
•••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
5. Control System- Ab Soul: This album is most definitely a TDE classic. It’s just so much different from a lot of the things that have come out of that label. The lyrics are dope, the production is great, and it has an immense amount of replay value. Most definitely worth checking out.
4. Section 80- Kendrick Lamar: Section 80 is absolutely phenomenal. Kendrick really came through with this one. It was his first studio album and it it did not disappoint. The concepts on this joint are mind blowing especially coming from an artist as unknown and young as Kendrick was when this released. This would set Kendrick up to do great things going forward in his career.
3. Blank Face LP- ScHoolboy Q: This shit is hard bruh. Ain’t much more i can say about this. Production is fire. Bars is fire. Features are dope. Everything about this shit is just fire. And not only that, but there’s a few cuts on her that really get u thinking. Q takes us through the lifestyle of a former gang member turned father trying to change his life and it’s amazing. And he does all this without scarifying anything sonically because again, this shit fire.
2. TPAB- Kendrick Lamar: Let’s talk about how Conceptually this album is unmatched. How about the fact that the lyrics on here are some of the most mind bending, racially conscious, real lyrics I’ve ever heard, and I’ve been listening to music all my life. That’s a big feat. This album is flawless, i have nothing bad to say about it, but that’s still not enough to put it over my #1 TDE album...
1. GKMC- Kendrick Lamar: THIS IS THE GREATEST HIP HOP ALBUM OF ALL TIME. The storytelling in this shit is vivid. The beats on here slap. The replay value is impeccable. The attention to detail is like no other. Every single aspect of this album screams amazing. This is my favorite TDE album.

10. Oxymoron-ScHoolboy Q: Coming in at #10, we have ScHoolboy’s 3rd studio album, Oxymoron. This album is a mixture between phenomenal gangster rap bangers, slowed and choppy songs meant to make you vibe, as well as club style hits all in one. This is a fantastic album. The production on here is great, features great, lyrics great. It’s just really good.
9. Do What Thou wilt- Ab Soul: Next we have Soul with his 4th studio album, DWTW. This is a very dark and mysterious album with a hint of commercial pressure. Soul goes in on things like religion, rap beef, his relationship with women both romantically and casually along with a bunch of other things. The production is very interesting on this one as each song doesn’t really intel what that next will sound like. It’s kind of a blinded experience listening to this one, and that’s part of the reason i like it so much.
8. Ctrl-SZA: Here we have SZA’s debut studio album, Ctrl. This album is absolutely amazing. SZA goes over everything from relationships, to sex, to how she views her parents to everything a women could possibly get of her chest. Her voice is like therapy on this one and when ever i sit down and listen to it again, i love it no less.
7. Cilvia Demo- Isaiah Rashad- Zay really put his best foot forward so far when your talking about CD. He sounds like a true underdog trying to climb his way to the top. He’s hungry, he’s talented and he’s willing to show you that on here.
6. DAMN.-Kendrick Lamar: My least favorite of all of Kdot’s albums, i still love this shit. The production is phenomenal, the concepts are thought provoking, and the hits are seemingly all over this thing. Kendrick’s most commercially dominant album to date.

This is a list of my top 25 hip hop songs from the old school era of hip hop, basically anything before 2010. This list has no definite order, it’s just a bunch of songs i love. I tried to pic songs that i feel would be good to listen to if your someone not very familiar with hip hop but want to get more acquainted. This is not the end all be all of lists, this is just something i created while going over all my old records. Let me know some of y’all favorites in the comment section and make sure to follow the page. Trying to really grow a large family with this and a follow would be greatly appreciated.

Recently Mac Miller dropped his 5th full length studio album, Swimming. The 13 track came in the mist of a recent breakup between Mac and his long time girlfriend Arianna Grande. There was a whole bunch of very weird situations surrounding the aftermath of the whole breakup including Mac crashing his Mercedes g63 Wagon and later getting caught for a DUI. So obviously there was a lot going on in his life and the fans where highly anticipating his response to it all. With all that being said, this album did just that. He talks about his growth as a person and how fame has affected him in that process of finding himself. From references to his wealth affecting his mental health to him not really pay close enough attention to those around him and how they negatively affected him, he seems to be very reflective on this one. In terms of the music, i really like how this album sounds. I don’t like it as much as The Devine Feminine or Watching Movies with the Sound Off, but this album is Alston quite good. I love his focus on very good felling production even tho the lyrics might not always share that same sentiment. I feel like they complement each other perfectly. My favorite songs off this are probably Self Care and Hurt Feelings, the hooks on those tracks are great. If you like Mac Miller i feel like you will like this album and i also feel like if u aren’t familiar with his music, this would be a good listen as well. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

So let’s finally talk about Astroworld. I’d like to start this review off by apologizing to Mr. Travis Scott. I was completely ready to kill this man over this album being trash. From me not liking his previous work very much to the questionable artwork, i was anticipating the worst. But lord have fucking mercy, this album is amazing. Now like i said before, i haven’t really liked any Travis Scott project like at all. Rodeo to me was very lackluster and not worth the hype it got and Birds in The Trap wasn’t really anything crazy either. But Astroworld is completely different for me. I like every song on this album and love the majority of them. The album flows so smoothly and it’s so easy to listen to. The production is very dense for an artist like Travis meaning that it goes from hard hitting on songs like Sicko Mode to chill and comforting like on R. I. P Screw. And i also like how Travis is rapping on this joint. He just isn’t relying on the same harmonizing vocals like on his previous projects. It’s still there just not as overwhelmingly. Another thing that stood out to me was the features. When i saw the tracklist, none of them were listed so i thought there weren’t any but to my surprise i hear Frank Fucking Ocean’s amazing ass voice on Carousel and instantly get hyped. From Drake to Swae Lee to Weeknd, the features just kept coming and i loved it. Finally, i love how this album is mixed. Like i said, it runs very smoothly and that has to do with the mixing. Shout out to Mike Dean on that one. This as an absolutely amazing album from an Artist like Travis and I’ll most definitely have this high on my list of best albums to come out this year.

••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Lyrics: 7/10 Production:8/10 Features: 10/10 Replay Value: 9/10 Concept: 8/10 Delivery: 8/10 Overall: 8.3/10 •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••  #rap  #hiphop  #music  #talent  #travisscott  #kardashian  #astro  #world  #astroworld  #album  #2018  #newmusic  #artist  #kyliejenner  #drake  #frankocean  #features  #production  #beats  #rodeo  #rapper  #art  #dj  #musician  #kanyewest  #replay  #great  #stargazing  #newmusic  #cover

What are your thoughts on TA13OO, the new album from Denzel Curry. I really like this album as well as the way Curry went about releasing it. I probably like the last 3rd of the album the best. When I’m listening to Denzel Curry, I’m looking for very dark energy, and that’s exactly what i get with the last 4 tracks on this. I don’t feel like it lived up to my expectations of it being the best album to come out this year but it is most definitely in the top 15 or so. To me this album falls short in some of the cuts from the 2nd act. A lot of those songs don’t have much replay value and they just sound like they didn’t have any direction to them. Now obviously tracks like Clout Cobain and PERCZ are amazing songs and will almost most definitely be hits in there own right, but i feel its tracks like TA13OO and Black Metal Terrorist that really give this album its appeal. Denzel goes from calm and easy going on TA13OO to completely insane on BMT, and that kinda encompasses what i feel he was going so with this album. Showing all the sides and personalities that go along with Denzel Curry. This album is very good and i feel like y’all should take a listen if your into cloud rap.

This is a list of R&B artists I’ve been listening to heavily in recent times. •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••
1. The Weeknd- Now obviously The Weeknd is the biggest r&b artist in the game this year, and for good reason as he released “My Dear Melancholy,” a 6 track EP seemingly centered around a very broken relationship he was involved. I’ve had it on replay since it came out. Just the way he spills out his emotions on this one is very refreshing. And obviously I’m still listening to his earlier works as they have aged very well.
2. Jorja Smith- Another artist to drop a project this year, the British singer has been on a roll. Lost & Found is one of my favorite r&b albums to come out in recent times and i especially love the song “February 3rd”. Now i don’t know the significance of that song but what i do know is that it’s amazing and really highlights her vocal strengths.
3. Sza- This one is gonna be shorter because obviously Sza hasn’t really released to much this year. But Sza is always a go to for me. Her voice is as amazing they come and she provides an interesting insight into the female state of mind that otherwise would be foreign to me.
4. Frank Ocean- Frank is my favorite r&b singer of all time so I’m listening to him for obvious reasons. Whether it’s Blonde or even all the way back to Nostalgia Ultra, Frank is always in heavy rotation.
5. Jhené Aiko- Jhené is another person who hasn’t necessarily released to much music this year, but rather her music has just aged well to where i can go back and listen to it over and over again.

So both Mac Miller and Denzel Curry recently dropped lead singles w/ music videos. And on top of that, they both announced upcoming albums. First I’d like to ask who’s album your most excited for. Me personally i wanna heat both of them equally. I feel like these will likely be the two best albums to come out this year. I feel like for Denzel, it’s been a while since his last project and he’s so talented/ creative that you just know that he has something amazing. In terms of Mac Miller, that nigga got a lot to say and address. That whole situation with Ariana Grande and Pete Davidson. Like i feel like the whole situation was just really grimy and fishy like she was cheating on homie the whole time or something, i don’t know. But i feel like that mixed with the fact he’s been under the radar for like 2 years now, he has something amazing up his selves. In terms of the songs, i without a doubt like Clout Cobain 10x more. Not because self care was trash or anything because it was most definitely a great track, but that Denzel go to hard. This my favorite song to come out this year. And the music video was amazing as well. Very creative. The black and white theme of the whole thing compliments the lyrics and the dark beat very well. It’s just hard and i can’t wait to see how it fits in w/ the album as a whole. Self Care is dope too. Imma be honest, i had stopped listening to Mac Miller completely for like 3 years and to have him come back a full blown rnb singer was surprising to me. But i love it either way. Two very dope tracks.
