Dreaming of our mid-week adventure last week wild camping on Lingmoor Fell 😍 there is nothing like waking up at sunrise, especially with a day of climbing adventures planned ahead 🙌🏼 . . . 📸 @all_terrain_adventure
Woke up this morning at 5.30am (really not my best hour! 😴) and headed for a morning walk with Adam and post-walk coffee 👌🏼 Literally no one was around and we had the whole place to ourselves! 🤗 Love this time of day even though it’s super hard to wake up for it!
The views scrambling up Glassy Crag on the side of Wetherlam were amazing 🙌🏼 Not sure I’d recommend the scramble! It was a bit awkward route finding at times and a little on the short side, but as a nice grade 2 it definitely made the climb more interesting!
Conquered my second ever Severe trad route yesterday! Evening Wall (S 4a) on Raven Crag in Langdale 👊🏼😍 So happy the first time wasn’t a fluke... I still pinch myself sometimes! It’s been my goal for a long time to get to a level where I can comfortably lead on Severe... it’s now looking achievable 🤞🏼🤞🏼 I would have never believed I would get to this point when I started out climbing! . Thank you so much to those who have been patient with me, taught me the ropes and helped me to believe in myself - you know who you are 🙌🏼🙏🏼 . . . 📸 @all_terrain_adventure
That feeling when you get to the top of a boulder problem only to find the top out is completely flat 😭 . . . 📸 @all_terrain_adventure
Not every adventure is created equally! Battled the rain and hiked up Fountains Fell today! ✅👊🏼
So what do you do when your on a staycation and the weather is as good as this? Climb of course! Had a brill day at Brimham and ticked off a few new routes including a surprising first 6a+ known as ‘Brothers’ - the top out was a full on belly flop but I’m taking it 😂 Here’s the lovely Gulley Arête (4+) - a nice warm up boulder at the start! . . . 📸 @all_terrain_adventure
Exploring the Mawddach Trail today and Coed Abergwynant woods! There’s nothing like a rainy day for microadventuring and exploring local areas 👣🍃💦
Led my first ever Severe (4a) trad route today! 👊🏼🎉 So happy and with the inspirational name of ‘Slab 2’ what wasn’t to love?! 😂 The route suited me down to a ‘t’ with lots of little crimps and balance-y foot work - all safe as houses on Little Tryfan - a gorgeous slab in Ogwen Valley 😍 to top it off it’s also Adam’s birthday today and we had a lovely day climbing in the sunshine 👌🏼 go give him some love! 🥳 . . . 📸 @all_terrain_adventure
I just love the community and comradery that goes with climbing 🙌🏼 So glad we decided not to climb indoors last night, progressed so much further than I ever have done with the encouragement of @jessrg_outdoors, @all_terrain_adventure and @climb_ed! Thanks guys! I think one day soon this will go 🤗 . . . 📸 @climb_ed / ‘Roof of the World Right Arete’
Back on the trails and back at my favourite place! 😍✌🏼A very easy 1.5 miles tonight and it felt just right... here’s to building up slowly and spending more time on the trails I love over summer! . . . 📸 @all_terrain_adventure
Most of the time I crave being in the mountains but last weekend I was feeling the ocean vibes! Was so lovely chilling with a picnic by the sea 😍 can you believe this is the UK?!
Slowing down and taking it easy is SO hard when your fave things to do is climb and run, I’m in the final stages of recovering, feeling a ton better now (no more vertigo for me! 👊🏼) so I was super chuffed to head out for a little climb at Caley yesterday 🙌🏼 Nothing major, no top outs, pushing myself or high balls, and of course lots of rest...BUT! I was outside and loving every moment of it! 🎉🎉 . . . 📸 @jessrg_outdoors
Back when I’d led an extra two moves on a climbing pitch that I’d not been able to do before on Bramble Buttress in North Wales! Every little bit of progress deserves a celebration jump at the end right? Not yet fully led that pitch... but one day it will go and I will have led the full thing!🤞🏼💪🏼 #throwbackthursday . . 📸 @all_terrain_adventure
RECOVERY 🙏🏼 It honestly feels like I’ve had this virus forever, for the last 2 weeks I’ve had something called Vestibular Neuronitis which has left me with permanent vertigo... now I’m not asking for sympathy here (I’ve actually improved a lot compared to last week!) but not being able to do much and being forced to slow down has taught me so much 🙌🏼 With it also being mental health awareness week I thought I’d share them with you 😊 . 🏃🏼♀️Like a lot of you guys I follow on here I thrive off exercise and love getting outdoors - it’s the place we feel most at home! But personally I’m sometimes prone to forcing it, feeling guilty for not going for a run or climb, and often I end up putting pressure on myself to step out the door. These last 2 weeks have taught me that it doesn’t make me any less of an outdoorsy person if I just want to stay inside, have a bath and read a book - it’s whatever you need to do to care for yourself and that’s the most important! . 🍃 Enjoy the moment. Being forced to slow down has made me realise that although I do make time for myself in my busy diary, I’m often not present for it, I’m always thinking of the next thing and I can still have anxiety and stress occupying my mind... I suppose what I’ve learnt more than anything is that it’s important to nurture and slow your mind down as much as your body and when I recover I’m definitely going to do this more! (Ps. @rosemarie1989 shared a brill ‘5-4-3-2-1 Grounding’ method for doing this on her story yesterday which I loved 🙌🏼) . It’s going to be a few weeks until I’m back to full recovery but I really can’t wait to get back into the swing of things with a better mindset to mental health 👊🏼 . #mentalhealthweek #recovery
Completed 2 out of 3 days of the SILVA Great Lakeland 3 Day - 47 miles, 21 Wainwright’s and 12 of them new for me! Unfortunately had to pull out of the last day due to something called Vestibular Neuronitis (or at least we think it was that!) Basically I had constant vertigo and loss of balance / vision which hit me hard at the end of day 2, which was tough. Sad to call it quits, but it was definitely the right decision and I’m so chuffed for what I’ve achieved over the last 2 days 😊 Thanks so much to @achambers81 for being a top running buddy and great to meet @ingy13879 @myoutdoorjournal and @chris.m.bunting too. Well done guys 💪🏼🤘🏼
