🎈VEGAN NIGHTS🎈⠀ So happy that this month the @vegannightsldn birthday was on the same day as mine.. so of course I had to go! Scroll through for what we had⏩⠀ ⠀ 🥟 @phung.kay lemon chicken and the Chiu Chow Fun Gor - both of which were delicious! The lemon chicken had a nice subtle lemon flavour sauce which nice and sticky and the dumplings tasted so fresh and had a gorgeous soy sauce coating then⠀ ⠀ 🍛 @omkara_ldn tandoori Chick’n curry with rice - this was so tasty and the flavour was really good.. the only downside was that we waited over an hour for it with no warning! I wouldn’t get it again at vegan nights as the wait was crazy but would at another quieter market as it was really nice once we had it! Would want to try the platter next time as it looked like it had a bit of everything! ⠀ ⠀ 🍔 @thehoglessroast meal - this dark photo does not do this justice at all as it was unbelievably good! The roll was filled with crackling, really juicy soy ‘meat’ and some chilli jam which all worked a treat. My favourite part was the hash browns, I could have eaten a whole plate full of them on their own.. would definitely get this again!
🥳ITS MY BIRTHDAY🥳⠀ It’s my birthday today! so after a day at my new job I’m heading to @vegannightsldn to hopefully be this happy with a drink in hand and some fab vegan food! (a little throwback picture to getting boozy in Berlin)
🍞TOAST TUESDAY🍞⠀ When you can’t decide what to have on your toast so you have a different topping on each side.. sriracha is my favourite addition to avocado and toast and soy sauce is my favourite for mushrooms on toast 💫
🍪BENS COOKIES🍪⠀ I don’t know if these are new or not but found out today that @benscookies do a vegan chocolate chip cookie! Was such a nice little treat to have as a little break from shopping for new work wear! ⠀ 💫⠀ Was such a soft and absolutely filled with chocolate chunks and it was also slightly warm so ate at a perfect time
🍴CAFE ROUTE🍴⠀ I went for brunch today at @caferoute in dalston and the vegan breakfast is really winner... it was really fresh cooked veggies on top of toast with vegan cream cheese.. also they make fresh juices to order which I absolutely love.. my parents loved the non vegan options too so great for everyone’s tastes💫
🥡SATAY STREET🥡⠀ Today I visited the @sataystreetuk food stall in Shoreditch and it did not disappoint.. I got the bao buns filled with tofu, peanut sauce and some veggies.. topped with crispy onions and sriracha.. the perfect combo! Bao buns are one of my favourite things but it was the peanut sauce that made this dish.. 100% worth a visit! ⠀ I found this place from @thelittlelondonvegan instagram so thank you for recommending it!
🥑 AVO&TOMATO🥑⠀ Had nice lunch the other day of avocado on toast with some fresh homegrown tomatoes and a sprinkle of chilli, pepper and yeast flakes.. nice and filling as well as tasty.. a topping of chilli and yeast flakes just makes everything taste better! ⠀ 💫⠀ Love lunched like this whilst it’s still sunny and making the most of the fresh veggies 🍅
🍅 PASTA 🍅⠀ Simple dinner tonight for my first proper night in my new flat! Cooked up some tomatoe sauce with added peppers and had with some whole meal pasta and lots of raw spinach underneath.. also with a generous dollop of hummus ⠀ 💫 ⠀ I’m going to try and focus on cooking cost effective meals at the moment as I know I get carried away with new exciting vegan ingredients and junk food.. so step one is to always make a pasta sauce from scratch as it’s so much cheaper (and has better ingredients) than shop brought ones!
🍝NATURLI PEA MINCE🍝⠀ I gave the @naturli pea based mince I try in a bolognese the other night and I absolute loved the taste and texture of it! I cooked it with: ⠀ - diced carrot ⠀ - couple sticks of celery ⠀ - 1 red pepper ⠀ - 1 onion ⠀ - couple of garlic cloves ⠀ - tin of chopped tomatoes ⠀ - tablespoon of tomato purée ⠀ - splash of red wine ⠀ - two teaspoons mixed herbs ⠀ - one squirt of agave syrup ⠀ I let it simmer for about 20 minutes before serving with a small salad and some brown rice 🍚
🥣BREAKFAST🥣⠀ As it’s been hotter weather I haven’t really been having breakfast as I don’t fancy anything first thing and just waiting to have an early lunch instead.. but as if been getting a bit colder I’ve been craving my porridge breakfasts again! Topping mine with blueberries, banana, pomegranate seeds and drizzle of PB
🌮GENESIS🌮⠀ Another day of flat viewings = another vegan restaurant visit! This was my first time visiting genesis and it was so good I can’t believe I haven’t been here sooner! Their food is vegan and organic and they have such a variety on the menu it’s hard to choose.. between two of us we had: ⠀ - kimchi fries ⠀ - Korean street sandwich ⠀ - Korean BBQ wings ⠀ - two of the tacos⠀ The service was friendly and so quick, and it was nice knowing they use good quality ingredients too!
🍚EAT CHAY🍚⠀ After an exhausting day of trekking around London for flat viewings the only thing that could save me was @eatchayclub for dinner.. their food is my absolute favourite and always so good every time 😍 l love box park for the drinks as well, it’s great in the sunshine ☀️
🥔SAMOSAS🥔⠀ Last night we had a party and I wanted to make some canapés to have with drinks and these samosas went down a treat! I bought the pastry and then filled with a mixture of potato, peas, onion and lots of spices - I had to watch a YouTube video of how to wrap them properly 😅⠀ I baked them in advance and kept them in the freezer, so the night of the party I could just heat in the oven and serve with some mango chutney 🥭
🎈FAVE PRODUCTS🎈⠀ Here are a few of my favourite products at the moment which I got from my local health food shop.. I love them but all a bit pricey so not things that are in my weekly shop 👀 the fresh white miso is my absolute favourite as I add it to so many things to give it that extra oomph of flavour, and it’s especially good in stir fries 🤤⠀ Both of these chocolate bars are my favourite by far, and love that the @ichoc_vegan_chocolate comes in so many flavours 🥰
🏠 EVERYTHING WRAP🏠⠀ I have had an amazing few weeks venturing around across Europe and have eaten some amazing food, but it sure is nice to be home and be able to cook my own food! There’s a wrap under there somewhere beneath all the veg and tofu 👀⠀ The majority of the veg and salad were grown by my dad which was amazing and the pesto is made with homegrown basil 🌱 good to have some fresh food!
🍜KLUB KITCHEN🍜⠀ A lunch spot recommended to us in Berlin by our air B&B host was Klub Kitchen, and it was great! They had fresh juices, coffee and lunch options.. I had the noodles which had fried tofu mixed in which was the perfect size for lunch and had such a tasty soy sauce dressing on it.. excellent recommendation 😜
🇩🇪FATHER CARPENTER🇩🇪⠀ If there is one thing they’ve nailed in Berlin it’s brunch, there are so many beautiful brunch spots in Berlin it was hard to pick one today... we landed on Father Carpenter which was is a beautiful court yard and had clearly labelled vegan options! This is their vegan baguette, which has pepper dip, hummus and roasted veg.. perfect before a day of sightseeing 👟
