Well, it felt pretty hot and tropical in East Anglia today😊☀️ I was lucky enough to be allowed out of the office to visit RHS Hyde Hall near Chelmsford. What a treat! Swipe ▶️ for a few of the wonderful plants I saw in the tropical area - oh boy was it hot!😊😎 #yourtmgarden #tropical #hothothot #banana #tropicana #clubtropicana #rhshydehall #gardenlove #lovegardening @the_rhs #essex #essexgardens #theonlywayisessex #plantsforhotbeds #hotplants #hotgardens #hotanddry #hotweather #hotsummer

White flowers - I’ve waiting a couple of years for my first Tuberosa to bloom. Wow, was definitely worth the wait. Agave amica, formerly Polianthes tuberosa, the tuberose, is a perennial plant in the family Asparagaceae, subfamily Agavoideae, extracts of which are used as a note in perfumery. Now widely grown as an ornamental plant, the species was originally native to Mexico. The second picture is my first Pretty Woman Tree Lily to open. My patio smells wonderful tonight. • #suffolk #whiteflowers #tuberosa #perfume #scent #flowers #treelily #prettywoman #bulb #patioplants #plantapot #mytmgarden #yourtmgarden #beautiful #worthwaitingfor #growth #watchitgrow

Found this vine weevil happily chomping away on the dwarf bean plants. I guess i should be a little concerned although they've made little impact as of yet. #gardens #garden #gardening #nature #plants #gardener #gardenlife #summer #gardensofinstagram #insects #gardeners #photography #plantsofinstagram #instagarden #vineweevil #naturephotography #gardenphotography #gardeninglife #growvegetables #pests #yourtmgarden

Did you know that the first fuchsia was discovered in the Caribbean in about 1696? For Win it Wednesday this week we're giving you the chance to win a little bit of Caribbean colour for your garden in the form of a 3 litre potted Fuchsia 'Angela' plant on a trellis! Already in bud, it won't be long before she's flowering away in your garden. Just like and tag a fuchsia-loving friend and we'll announce the winner on Friday! You can plant 'Angela' in a large patio container (sorry, this one's not included😥) and she'll get bigger and better year after year, although she might need a bit of winter protection in really frosty weather. Good luck! 😊

Echinacea or cone flowers are real favourites of ours, so we're very pleased to be adding new Echinacea 'Parrot' to our autumn range! Stalwarts of the summer garden, they'll flower merrily away, attracting masses of bees and other pollinators to their unusual red and yellow bicolour blooms. They love a hot, sunny border and make great cut flowers too! ⠀

Fatsia japonica or Japanese aralia is usually known for its glossy foliage, giving a lush, tropical feel to planting schemes. Fatsia 'Spiders Web' is a bit different in that its speckled markings spreading inwards from the outermost edges give it an unusual frosted look. And it's not all about its pretty evergreen leaves - in autumn, it produces clusters of globular white flowers which are then followed by black berries, and as an added bonus, in spite of its exotic good looks, this fatsia is perfectly hardy. A great choice for those slightly challenging, shady areas in the garden or on a terrace or patio 😊

Here's a fabulous new compact allium for your pots and borders next year! This year's alliums have been spectacular and they're always a favourite on social media! As they start to fade and go a bit flopsy, it's worth thinking about which ones to plant later this year. Allium 'Rosy Dream' is a shorter variety which is perfect for the fronts of borders or in a nice pot. It's also a lovely pink colour which blends in beautifully with the more traditional allium shades. We love it!😊 🌻
