"Until you cross the bridge of your insecurities, you can't begin to explore your possibilities"
I’ve been reminiscing the last few days about being a young mom. Maybe it’s because I’m feeling the shift of seasons: the literal one to fall but also the life one as we near retirement and are tasked with downsizing & simplifying life. Plus my mom’s birthday was yesterday; she would have been 91 & she loved me and my girls even though it was imperfectly. All these things led to the perfect reminiscent storm. I know you young mamas out there always hear that you should treasure the moments, and you should, but just know it’s a season we’ve all been through. And no matter how well you treasure the moments, the treasuring will never be enough as you look back. So, what I’m saying is this: TREASURE THE SEASONS with an open hand. Don’t cling to one thinking it is the pinnacle of life. Because even though it is magical and wonderful and amazing and it teaches us what we were created to be on this earth, there are so many more seasons to come. We grow through the seasons. That’s how God works his magic and matures us into who he created us to be. So for now...here’s to yesterday’s Donna that was present and doing her very best to love her LIGHT’S of her life with her whole heart. Today they are the treasures of life and I wouldn’t trade a day of time with my adult girls for anything this world could offer. God is good. Life is short. . . . Happy SentimentalSunday. I love you.
