If you know me pretty well you probably know that my biggest fear is being stranded in the middle of nowhere, for multiple reasons... (let’s leave it at that lol)

As Im driving to Monterey last night I decided to stop in the lost hills stretch, because stars were super dope, a lot of semi passing and I can get cool light trails and the number one reason was because I’ve always wanted to try to take a picture of the Milky Way. 
I contemplated getting out of the car and after a couple of minutes I said naaah f*** all that.  Took the executive decision of shooting from the inside. After 30 min of playing around with settings and getting the right angle I was stoked on the results!

The Ghost of Jupiter's Halo 
Close-up images of NGC 3242 show the cast off shroud of a dying, sun-like star fancifully known as The Ghost of Jupiter nebula. About a light-year across NGC 3242 is some 4,500 light-years away. The tenuous clouds of glowing material at the right could well be interstellar gas, by chance close enough to the NGC 3242's white dwarf to be energized by its ultraviolet radiation.

After a star like the Sun completes fusion in its core, it throws off its outer layers in a brief, beautiful cosmic display called a planetary nebula. NGC 3242 is such a planetary nebula, with the stellar remnant white dwarf star visible at the center.
