-The great thing about yoga is that you can use the practice to suit your needs on the day, whether it’s for strength and agility, toning the muscles and giving them a deep stretch, building stamina and flexibility, or focusing on the poses which alleviate stress, aid relaxation and give comfort. -

-Generally a good varied yoga practice will do all these things together. But sometimes your body craves something particular to focus on. When I’m stressed, tired or run down I really like doing knees to chest pose (Apanasana).
It has a soothing, nurturing and therapeutic effect. It puts self care and self love first. It’s the same if you sit and hug your knees. But lying on the back reaps more benefits. As you inhale moving the legs slightly away from you, then on the exhale move the knees to the chest, you experience the healing properties of yoga with the breath combined with stretch. It instantly relaxes and warms the body, calms the mind, and lengthens the spine. It can also help ease sciatica.

-It’s a great one to do if you don’t feel like doing much yoga. Sometimes stress and tension can build up so much, it even puts us off exercise. At the end of the day yoga is supposed to help, not be a chore. 🌟
It can also be done in bed before you go to sleep, and when you wake up. 🌟
