"The industry has traditionally been difficult for new designers to enter because of how capital intensive it is to sell on consignment. Designers should consider practices that reduce overhead such as inventory risk and back-end logistics, while doing what they do best: design custom jewelry pieces for customers around the world." 👤 👤 👤 👤 Who made this statement? They will tell you during the January 15th summit where we will explore funding opportunities for emerging designers and ways you can structure your business to be more profitable internally.
Remarkable Repairs: A Family Ring Re-imagined This fascinating two-toned ring began life as a three stone ring: two round diamonds, 1.2 carats each, set on each side of the much larger center blue sapphire (approximately 3 cts). Our customer wanted the sense of the original design to remain. She wanted it to have a smaller presence and to be completely rebuilt. Paul reinforced the square shank (only partially pictured here), removed the two side diamonds, redesigned the top of the shank to accommodate the original sapphire setting, rebuilt the ten prongs: eight yellow gold and two platinum, and reset the sapphire. Now our customer has what appears to be a brand new ring – re-imagined from her family ring using her input and Paul’s expertise.
