It’s that time of the year. Eating with family and friends during the holidays is inevitable. Stuffing oneself is a choice. Even though I try to make a commitment that I won’t overeat, somehow I always forget–and so do my clients!

Here’s an action plan to move on after a major food indulgence. I’m not giving you permission to go crazy, though; I understand accidents happen and i would rather you skip the self-loathing and go straight to doing some healthy damage control! .
.

The number one rule is to not continue overeating. It’s very common for people to think ‘I’ve ruined everything; might as well keep going. This is the most important thing not to do. It’s much easier to manage your weight if you overeat at one meal or even one day than if you continue this cycle. Think about calories like money. If you spend $1, you will be fine, but if you spend $100—over and over—you will be broke.

If you know you’ve overdone it on the food front, take a 10-15 minute walk. Not only can walking post meal give you some fresh air and work to help clear your mind, it can support healthy digestion and improve blood sugar levels. When you vegetate on the couch after a large meal, the glucose in your bloodstream will circulate longer; if you take a walk, that sugar starts to get used instead of being stored.
So get outside and enjoy this beautiful fall weather!

Greek salad with salmon 🐟. Spring mix, Greek olives, feta, cucumber, salmon and homemade greek dressing (olive oil, red wine vinegar, oregano, lemon juice, garlic). 424 cals/5 WW points. I was soo in the mood for a Greek salad, but I know they can be expensive at restaurants. I had frozen sockeye salmon in the freezer, so that was easy. I bought a cucumber, red wine vinegar, olives, and fat free feta and threw it together! For all you taco lovers out there. We decided to make some #grainfree and #vegan tacos that anyone would love. 🌮🌶
@sietefoods grain-free taco shells, cassava flour tortillas and a dash of their hot sauce gave us the perfect canvas for some @traderjoes French steamed lentil cooked with our Smokin' Chipotle, fresh lime juice and some diced onions.  We also took a can of @edenfoods pinto beans and spiced them up with our Mexican in a Minute. 🌯🍅
We made an amazing spicy green sauce with soaked cashews, jalapeno, cilantro, fresh lime juice, and a hefty pinch of Smokin' Chipotle. 🌮🥑
Lastly, a little shredded cheddar from @violife_foods to round off each taco or burrito perfectly! 🌯🥬
Kid tested and approved too!

Meal prep can be as simple or as hard as you make it 👨‍🍳

Now, when I say that, I don't mean blow off tracking and go nuts....but don't over complicate it

It doesn't have to just be chicken, broccoli, and rice
.
But it doesn't have to be America's top chef meals either
.
Be smart, eat wholesome nutritious foods.
Stick to your numbers but don't kill yourself over a few grams on the food scale. Also don't take that statement for granted and use it as an excuse to miss your macros every meal
.
Trust me, I've been on both sides of that problem.

I've counted every single macros down to the last grain of rice. Constantly stressing over my numbers and doing calculations on my phone.

Yet I've also been the guy to say I'm only human as an excuse for missing my macros for the 7th day in a row

If you're either of those 2 people, can't figure out where to start, of simply want some new ideas, give me a shout!
