Crazy how quick this year has gone. Became a personal trainer nearly a year ago, and it’s safe to say it has flown by. Love my job sooo much, and feel blessed to have the opportunity to work with so many different/amazing people on a day to day basis.

It’s fair to say this job is so much harder than people think, from long hours, lots of hard work/determination. But from all this it’s helped me grow so so much as my own individual and helped push me way outside my comfort zone🥰💫

Waarom ik naar de grond aan het lachen ben?! Het gaat de laatste tijd super lekker met mijn eigen onderneming. Nog geen jaar geleden ben ik begonnen en als ik daar nu op terug krijg begin ik te stralen.

Stiekem super trots op wat ik tot nu toe heb bereikt. En geloof me, dit smaakt naar meer. Vol met ideeën om mijn onderneming te verbeteren.

I’ve never hid my mental health, my struggles, and I don’t plan on starting. However, I’ve been hiding and fighting alone lately. I have a bad habit of not admitting that I’m struggling, not because I’m ashamed, but because my mind tricks me into thinking I’m fine. But my husband picked up on it a month ago. I guess that’s what happens when he’s been in my life since 6 years old, and was there when I was diagnosed at age 16. He knows me better than I know myself sometimes, and he picked up on the small changes a month ago. By the time I finally accepted that I wasn’t doing good, I was really, really not doing good. ·

I got to the point where my bed became my best friend, I was struggling to get out of bed and take care of my babies, or myself. (Thank goodness for my momma in these cases)

I became like a ghost, I became numb, I just walked around like a zombie and didn’t show my feelings to anyone. I didn’t let anyone in. My anxiety sky rocked to the point that I wasn’t doing anything, but my watch was picking up 25-50 minutes of activity in a day. My heart rate was averaging around 130bpm.

Finally yesterday I broke down. I looked at my girls and listened to them laugh and I went to my room and lost it. I had two happy, beautiful girls. Why wasn’t I happy? I didn’t have an answer for it. I just kept saying.. Why? Why? Why?

I think that break down helped. I think holding all my feelings in and finally letting them out was so good for me. ·

Bipolar is a disease I absolutely wish on no one, and it’s a battle everyday. I know there are people who are worse off, or who are struggling too. That’s why I share my life so openly. I look very proud and happy with myself because I am. Today I attended my first fitness class in two years. And I started with a HIIT class with running, weight lifting and boxing. Because go big or go home 🤷🏼‍♀️ I walked in full of nerves, but they honestly went as soon as I entered the room and started talking to the (very cute) instructor. We each got our heart monitors and to install them we had to tell our weight. Which would usually put me in panic mode, ruin the whole day for me and make me feel shit. But it didn’t. It didn’t make me feel anything at all actually. Because it’s a fucking number. And literally no one in that class gave half a shit about that number. I think a lot of us overthink when it comes to fitness classes. We think people will look at us, judge and pay attention to how good or bad we’re performing. THIS IS NOT THE CASE!! We all come to the class to work on ourselves and if you’re wasting your class focusing on how Susan and Peter in the right corner are doing, then you’re just weird.. Most people in this world are actually nice. And everyone in my class today killed it and we’re nothing but nice. And we all high fived eachother at the end.
anyways, my point is that you should go to that class you’ve been thinking of attending but been too afraid to go to. It’s never as scary as you think it will be. And there’s all kinds of people at the classes. And even if everyone is more fit than you are, it does not matter. Because again, everyone in that class is there to improve. I have another class on Saturday and I can’t wait!

Let me tell yall the story behind this photo. Earlier this month, I had the privilege of attending @fitposium which is an amazing conference where fitness professionals can connect, network and learn more about how to improve and expand their business. (Yes you need to go next year)

On the second day, we had pitch and portfolio interviews which basically means that we had 3 minutes to sell ourselves to as many editors and podcast and casting directors as we could in 90 minutes.😅

Every so often my inner insecure girl comes out and remembers when she was teased for being too tall, wearing glasses, being smart, and having a unibrow(ok to laugh 😂) and in that moment I just felt like I had no business being there.

So I sat in my room and waited 10 minutes before going down and thought to myself but why not me? If I think that I’m not worthy enough then I won’t be, so why not just show up as my whole self anyways and then see what happens.

The next day I found out I had been selected for an opportunity to be featured in a magazine.

It’s okay to not always feel confident but that can’t be an excuse for you to stop living your life. Do it with or without confidence.❤️

I don’t ALWAYS feel confident.... . . Let me tell yall the story behind this photo. Earlier this month, I had the privilege of attending @fitposium which is an amazing conference where fitness professionals can connect, network and learn more about how to improve and expand their business. (Yes you need to go next year) . . On the second day, we had pitch and portfolio interviews which basically means that we had 3 minutes to sell ourselves to as many editors and podcast and casting directors as we could in 90 minutes.😅 . . Hey fam! I just finished a killer leg workout and felt the need to post about the struggles I’ve been having in the past week. When I look in the mirror I sometimes see the 200lbs girl I used to be. It is so hard to let go of that girl and fully focus on the girl I have become today. This past weekend I went back home and went shopping with my mom. She kept pointing out to me that I was gravitating towards clothes that kept me hidden, just like how I would when I was 200lbs and trying to hide my weight. She reminded me that I need to be proud of myself! 
And that is exact what I’m reminding y’all about! BE PROUD of the progress you’ve made! BE PROUD that you’ve made the steps to change! And BE PROUD of your body!

Checking in on the cut. The results are.. that I made it down from 19.6% to 13.8% body fat in 6 weeks...before I started eating cake and stuff 😜. Took me about 2-3 weeks prior to that to get from about 23% to 19.6%...My goal was to beat my body fat percentage from a cut that I did in February (16.8%) without tracking meals. Having a strict diet with intense training resulting in such a drastic weight loss is not something I’d recommend doing unless you had an expert/professional with knowledge in nutrition following you. Or really at all unless you had goals of competing. During this time I kept my meals nutrient dense while I was eating at a calorie deficit. I made sure I was hitting my protein requirements to retain and build muscle. I didn’t meal prep. I was able to fit in little cheat meals and snacks here and there. One of the weeks I was on a cruise (the realest struggle) but it made me the healthy swap queen 😂. Within the 6 weeks of tracking I had gained about 1.5 lbs in muscle mass and lost 9 lbs in fat 😱 which surpassed my expectations. It’s something I’m proud to have accomplished. Another thing I experienced was a mental struggle. Seeing your body change so quickly does play with your mind and confidence. It was a little scary in the beginning. The old me would have been disappointed with what I saw in the mirror but instead I chose to accept how my body responded and love the result. I reached a deeper love for myself out of it and that was freeing. 
Having gone through a cut like this for the first time taught me so much in regards to weight loss and what it takes to get to this point. I’m happy to have done it so that I can help my clients better. Now that fall is here, it’s time to switch it up...who else is getting ready for bulking season?

3 pillars of fitness and nutrition is the most challenging? 👀 For some people it's easy while for most it's hard. 
But why? Lots of things actually, how our brain works, scientists manipulating food to be addicting, our environment, money, and more 😭

For the most part as long as you keep 80% to 90% food clean while training intense you'll be good.

Some more general wealthy food hacks:

1. Less Ingredients = Cleaner 
2. If you feel horrible physically after eating it then come on now

3. Lots of sauces, salts and seasonings can mess with mental clarity

The best types of exercise for adrenal fatigue? Caveat: under guidance of a specialist!

If you’re someone who is struggling from adrenal fatigue, you’re probably experiencing fatigue, lack of energy, low motivation, maybe you even have problems sleeping. Even if you used to exercise all the time before, right now, you might not be able to find the motivation to squeeze a workout in, let alone exercise regularly. On top of that, some exercises might actually make your condition worse!

The question then becomes – how do we exercise with adrenal fatigue? Moreover, what are the benefits of it, and what exercises should we focus on?
.
Recent research studied the adrenal-cortisol response of high-intensity, short-rest, strength training in men and women. It concluded that short rest periods are definitely *not* good for you since they trigger an adrenal response. It also found out that those who jumped on a CrossFit training regime showed higher levels of cortisol produced. (If you have cortisol issues to begin with, you probably can’t keep up with exercise and stay healthy at the same time). These types of workouts, intense with short rest periods, are probably the worst thing you can do if you have adrenal fatigue.

That being said, here are some tips you have to keep in mind when training with adrenal fatigue.
.
First, rest for longer than 90 seconds. You have to watch your heart rate, and once it goes up during your set, you have to let it drop back down during your rest. Short rest periods will *not* let you do that. Keep your workout short – up to 30 minutes.

Focus on simple, low-intensity movements. This isn’t limited to resistance training. Even a morning walk will benefit you majorly.

Slowly increase your exercise capacity. A little more volume and a little bit more work turn into big results in the long-term. The key here is to make sure every workout leaves you energized instead of drained. If you pay attention to how you feel, you’ll quickly realize that workouts that *give* you energy are what you should be aiming for. However these products are expensive and I personally have some concern as to their affect on my kidney function along with other organs that play a vital role in the filtration of my circulatory system.

Therefore, I’ve decided to source my caffeine from coffee. But not just any coffee...@deathwishcoffee provides me with the caffeine I need for ample performance in just half a cup. It’s cost effective, easier on my body, and I don’t have to walk into the gym with a belly full of hot liquid prior to working out. Drink it cold with a splash of milk and a dash of sugar and it tastes just like a Vietnamese Iced Coffee 🤤

The only downside is coffee consumption tends to stain your teeth 😬 so my @snowteethwhitening will be working overtime...hopefully I don’t fall asleep with it on again 😜😂

So while most of y’all stared at my previous photo all day, I actually did have to work. Been studying how to release fluid from joints and work with people with scar tissue. My OG has taken me under his wing and has been helping me while I study and letting me use him as a test subject.
