Monday’s are for shoulders! Trying to grow them frieza boulder shoulders! Felt great being back in the gym and normal beginning of the week being back from Jamaica. Tonight body felt amazing and responded really well weights I was wanting to push up. Love when workouts like this start my week! Sets the tone for me and really pumps me up to kill it rest of the week.  But more than anything I’m so so proud of my beautiful mother! She came to the gym a little after I did and was running. She’s been goin to gym about 4-5 times a week for past couple weeks to run and do cardio! She’s been doin so awesome and been able to get her endurance up to 45 mins straight of running! So proud of her!! 😍😍❤️❤️ She wants to run a 5k in the fall so my bros and I all decided we all goin to do one with her! Age is just a number, don’t give up on yourself. You’re capable of a lot more than you think you just have to give yourself the opportunity to prove it!

It is important to stick to the program with extreme patience and avoid slipping into your ego. Of course we will always be in a back and forth swing with our ego in life but remind yourself you are in it for the long haul. You don’t need to lift thousands of pounds in the first 3-4 months of training, not even in the first year.

Make sure your form is always a priority, put tension on your muscles and not your joints.
.
Track your lifts everyday, and remember volume beats intensity. You are better off working at a lower intensity with higher volume.
.
Training should make you feel better, and not the other way around. Being sore is okay in the beginning of a new training program but eventually that should go away and not be an indicator of a great workout.
.
With lower body movements make sure glutes at working well, and your lower back should not be the common place for soreness.

So gehts mir aktuell! In knapp drei Wochen fang ich mit dem Aufbau an und freue mich auf die #Herausforderung und die #Erfahrungen die ich machen werde! Ich bin seit gefühlt 3000 Jahren im Defizit 🤫🤣

Nächste Woche Mittwoch plane ich schon einen Restday ein und werde den August mit meinem ersten Beintraining einleiten💪 ich habe gestern mein Fahrrad zusammen geflickt und hoffe so mein Knie und die Oberschenkel etwas zu kräftigen bis dahin (hätte schon früher auf die Idee kommen können🙄). Fahrrad fahren ist halt nicht wirklich mein Sport, tut aber ab und zu gut 😊 •
Ich könnte ja auch was motivierendes schreiben, aber das lesen nur wenige und langfristig kann man sich nur selbst motivieren! Wenn man das nicht kann, ist man echt ange 💩 🤷‍♂️

One of the most elusive muscles to build for most females is the bicep muscles. There are a number of reasons for this, one of them – and one I’ve personally struggled with for years – is the fear of “looking like a man”. As females we are deathly scared to pick up a heavy dumbbell because we fear “bulking” or “looking like a man”.

Now first off, let me be very clear about this: the fear of “looking like a man” is the biggest load of poo-poo ever told in fitness history. I literally cringe every time I see a woman in gym with a one or two kg dumbbell. LADIES! Our bodies don’t contain enough testosterone to bulk or “look like a man”. I always (ALWAYS!) lift as heavy as I possibly can. Please stop this foolishness… ain’t nobody got time for it… its 2019, for crying out loud!!

I’m a “just one more set!” kind of guy. I’ve never needed a coach to motivate me, or a workout partner to keep me going, or a class to have peaks and valleys in workouts. ————————————————
I can almost always self-motivate to do just one more set, once I get out for a run, stairs, bike, some push-ups, whatever it may be, I head out with a plan and talk myself into more kms or more sets of stairs. That’s me, that’s how I’ve generally approached exercise.
It’s me against myself while I keep telling Matt, “You’ve got one more set!”.
