I photographed this church last week in Gairloch & couldn't resist the warm light hitting the church as yet another storm rolled through. Don't forget that I will be helping to judge Quilter Cheviot’s #CapturingTheMoment2019 photo competition where you can win tickets to BBC Countryfile Live, trips to Peru, Seville and the Pyrenees. This is the third year of the competition and I am delighted to have the opportunity to work alongside some extremely talented individuals! This year we are asking for photographers of all experiences to help Quilter Cheviot #CelebrateRuralCommunities. As mentioned, by submitting images of your favourite wildlife, landscapes and rural heroes, you'll be in with a chance of winning incredible trips to Peru, Andalusia and Camino del Santiago! Every month until June, I’ll be choosing three finalists who will receive tickets to BBC Countryfile Live where their photographs will be on exhibition! Simply use the hashtags #QuilterCheviot and #CapturingTheMoment2019 to enter, and follow @quiltercheviot to keep up with the competition!

Photoshop is awesome & I use it a lot to tweak, blend and generally improve my photos, but nothing beats getting your image in a single shot when all of the elements fall in to place. Check out my latest YouTube video and see how I waited for this image as well as capturing another 2, all from in the field. This image is one that did not appear in my recent video from the Sahale Glacier Camp, but I have grown fond of it over the past few weeks. My time in n North Cascades was in support of the #FindYourPark and #PlacesNobodyKnows and was part of a four day project to raise awareness of overcrowding. #hiking #photography #sahalearm #northcascadesnationalpark
