Last night I ran my first wine class with people from different friend groups, backgrounds and wine experience levels 🍷⁣ ⁣ I decided to give a wine class a go as I've been drinking wine for several years now 😉 but only recently decided to take it more seriously (not too seriously though!) I've found some of the wine world a bit intimidating, inaccessible and not in the style I'd like to learn. So I wanted to create something that was simple, fun and easy to digest so people who don't know anything about wine have a place to start and aren't stressed out when they're in a bottle shop or restaurant with dates, parents or colleagues.⁣ ⁣ Lots of learnings for me from the night - ⁣ 🍇 I don't know everything (and probably never will!)⁣ 🍇 I need to learn to work the room⁣ 🍇 I should keep up the pouring practice haha!⁣ ⁣ On top of that I learned to be thankful for kind and supportive friends, grateful for the experience and excited about the opportunities ahead ✨⁣ ⁣ I've also found some of the nicest, kindest and smartest people in the wine world both in real life and on Insta which just spurs me on and gives me confidence to think I belong here 🙌🏼⁣ ⁣ So question is now, where next? And advice is to just get up and give it a go. Cheers 🥂⁣

New wine book! Except is it old now because I finished it in two days?! 🍷📖 if you're looking for a new wine fuelled read, then judge this book by it's cover and pick up a copy ASAP as it's absolutely hilarious while being packed full of vino knowledge. I feel smarter already 🤓⁣ ⁣ Author @wineinaonesie has fellow winos including her ma chip in on how to pick and buy wine, wine history, grapes and regions. Plus she's a onesie enthusiast, how lush 🥂definitely a good one for the boozy book collection! ⁣ ⁣ What are you reading and what shall I read next? 🙌

Have you been to Shoalhaven Heads?🍷 Recommendations on restaurants, wineries, beaches etc welcome as I'm heading south to this coastal wine region with the hubby this Easter weekend 🌊 Shoalhaven has 8 wineries on the route and one organic winery a bit further inland that I'm keen to check out. The area is known largely for white wines including chardonnay, verdelho and viognier but has a good mix of reds like cab sav, tempranillo and sangiovese. I cannot wait! 🍇 Where's your next wine break?🥂 📷: @gtwinemag @cupitt

Aba Solleira ☀ a Mencía from Ribeira Sacra, Northern Spain. The grape is pretty uncommon so la de da, go me and thanks dad. ⁣ ⁣ This medium red almost has a purple tinge to it, smells like blackberry and has a cherry, mineral style taste. The sandy, granite bedrock the vineyard sits on is south facing, giving it maximum sunlight and possibly its name (just my guess) 🍇⁣ ⁣ One of 6000 bottled, bottle 4539 was an absolute winner 🍷 have you tried mencía? Get it from @nakedwines 🙌

When you come home to wine 😍 I ordered my first @the_wine_gallery box before I went away and it was a nice welcome back to come home to 🍷 Check my stories for what's inside! ⁣ ⁣ How it works...You can either fill out their wine quiz online and they suggest wines for you or you can create your own pack on their site 🍾⁣ ⁣ Orders come through pretty quick, each wine comes with a story and tasting notes and I got an awesome tote that I will be toting around town from now on 💁🏼⁣ ⁣ Can't wait to crack in to it! Happy weekend all, cheers 🥂
